Reverend Meg Watson
The Reverend Meg Watson began her role as the pastor of the Longwood Hills
Congregational Church in September of 2007. Meg is a gifted preacher and teacher
who loves God and enjoys working with adults and children alike. She came to
Longwood from the United Church of Christ, Southbury in Connecticut.
Meg was the associate pastor at the U.C.C., Southbury from August of 2005 through
August 2007. She was called to Southbury after having served two years as the sole
pastor of the Frankfort Congregational Church in Frankfort, Maine. In addition to
preaching once or twice a month at the Southbury U.C.C., she was also the leader
of Christian Education and Youth Ministries. Her duties included the presentation of
a weekly children’s moment to the congregation, overseeing the Sunday School
program, running the Senior Pilgrim Fellowship and the Junior Pilgrim Fellowship,
organizing the yearly JPF and SPF mission trips, and more.
Rev. Watson earned her Associates Degree at Pasco-Hernando Community College in Dade City, Florida and a
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Florida. After years of professional experience in
accounting and child care, she seized her opportunity to attend seminary and follow her true calling. In 2004 Rev.
Watson graduated with honors from the Bangor Theological Seminary in Bangor, Maine with a Masters of Divinity. She
is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Family Counseling from Stetson University.
A native of Brooksville, Florida, Rev. Watson currently resides in Lake Mary with her husband Dean Sr. and son Dean Jr.
Her oldest son Chris recently moved to Lake Mary with Meg's grandson Christopher. Daughter Kim works as the
church's office administrator and her other daughter Maggie runs the nursery Sunday mornings. When she has the
opportunity, Rev. Watson enjoys reading, writing, kayaking, and attending her children's sporting events.
